Henri Blomqvist Appointed New Global Commercial Director Of Safilo

Safilo Group, worldwide leader in the premium eyewear sector, has appointed Henri Blomqvist to the newly established role of Global Commercial Director. Henri Blomqvist reports to Luisa Delgado, Chief Executive Officer of Safilo Group, and oversees all commercial wholesale operations worldwide. A native of Finland, Henri Blomqvist spent the last ten years at Procter & Gamble, where he acquired a variety of experiences in the areas of sales and commercial management, on several worldwide brands, most recently as international commercial leader of Braun. He held several local, regional and international roles covering a variety of countries, including Nordic, parts of Western Europe, Russia, Turkey, the Middle East, Korea and Australia. “We are very pleased to count on Henri in the Safilo Group Management Team. US-based REM Eyewear and UK-based Mondottica announce the expansion of their joint venture, Remdottica, to demonstrate an increased commitment to global partnerships and reaffirm their dedication to serving the needs of customers around the globe. The expanded partnership will allow for Remdottica to share experience and expertise while keeping a close eye on regional trends and facilitating superior logistics. The move also brings REM’s entire collection of quality eyewear brands to Europe for the first time. De Rigo Vision Now In The USA

De Rigo Vision SpA,  a world leader in the eyewear sector, has strengthened its presence in the United States through the opening of a new subsidiary. De Rigo Vision USA, entirely controlled by De Rigo Vision, will be starting business in Sunrise, Fla. by September. The company will handle sales of the Group’s eyewear and sunglasses collections through opticians across the U.S. The company said its decision stems from a broader plan to manage distribution in strategic markets directly and to integrate the group’s presence in the U.S., where it already operates in partnership with Marr International for the sale of its sunglasses collections exclusively through department  and specialty stores. Guillaume Pottecher, who most recently and for 12 years was head of operations for Logo of the Americas, will serve as general manager of the new company, drawing on his extensive experience in the eyewear sector and his great understanding of the U.S. market, particularly regarding the distribution of luxury brands.
