MATCHING FACE SHAPES WITH THE PERFECT FRAMES
Since its inception, Safilo’s worldwide research and development teams have always interpreted the trends emerging from different customer needs. Each frame is designed, developed and engineered in house not only for the best fit and comfort but also to enhance the features and confidence of the wearer.

Each face, in fact, requires specific constructions that are not only at the basis of the perfect fit but are also able to complement the shapes and lines of different faces. And, in the case of women, glasses can further complement their makeup.

When selecting a new optical frame, the key is to be focused on the type of lenses needed, fit and comfort. The wearer needs also to consider some specific rules to select the perfect pair of frames based on face shape, proportions and colors to balance overall look and feel. Optical collections designed by Safilo always take into consideration designs that perfectly fit with each face shape, such as square, rectangular, cat-eye, round, pilot and pantos, and are in line with precise morphological parameters and aesthetical standards.

OVAL FACES: are the most versatile and can wear almost any style as long as the frames are not wider than the widest part of the face, including wraparounds and shields.

ROUND FACES: are full of curves and have soft angles with wide cheekbones, forehead and jaw. A contrast is created by expanding the face vertically to appear longer or taller: angular frames are recommended, with sharp angles and straight lines giving the necessary edge.

SQUARE FACES: are characterized by angular lines, with a square jawline and broad forehead. Rounded frames soften these square angles, as well as shapes that are wider than the widest part of the face. Frames with a high bridge and temples help to broaden the upper third part of face.

HEART SHAPES FACES: have high and wide cheekbones that narrow towards the chin. The perfect frames are wider at the bottom and have lowered temples with rounded tops and more squared-off bottoms.
