Daytona Beach, Fla. – January 25, 2011 – Costa sunglasses recently promoted Brad Abbott, former national sales manager for the western United States, to his new position as vice president of the company’s expanding Rx sun lens division.
While Costa has produced Rx sun lenses since 2002, the company plans to expand the program in 2011 to include more prescription lens options for consumers. At the International Vision Expo East event in New York in March, Costa will debut its new 580™ Rx sun lens program.
As a vice president, Abbott will be responsible for overseeing Costa’s Rx sun lens division. Prior to joining Costa, Abbott worked in sales for various companies including Hydrogel Vision and Bausch + Lomb. He is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in business administration.
Abbott is also a member of Trout Unlimited and the International Game and Fish Association. In his free time, he is an avid outdoors enthusiast who enjoys kayaking, skiing, biking, fishing, and playing golf.
“You’re going to see some game changing developments coming out of Costa’s Rx division this year,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa sunglasses. “With the full support of Costa’s patented technology enhancements and Brad leading the charge, consumers are going to see a whole new world of prescription sun lens options open up to them.”
As the leading manufacturer of the world’s clearest polarized performance sunglasses, Costa offers superior lens technology and unparalleled fit and durability. Still handcrafted today in Florida, Costa creates what has been referred to as the highest quality, best performing sunglasses on the planet for outdoor enthusiasts.
For Costa, conservation is all about sustainable fishing. Many fisheries that should be vibrant and healthy are all but devoid of native fish because they have fallen victim to poor fishing practices, unregulated development, lack of watershed protection or all of the above. Costa works with partners around the world to help increase awareness and influence policy so that both the fish and fishermen of tomorrow will have healthy waters to enjoy. Costa encourages others to help in any way they can.
